Shops & Traders

This page is dedicated to all those traders who will be going plastic bag free.  There will be advertising space available to all of them.  So join us, become a plastic bag free trader in Poole!

InJuly, the Clean Green Bag Scheme visited the different businesses in Ashley Cross to find out who wanted to go 'plastic Bag Free'. We took a pledge around that stated that those shops that supply new free plastic bags were either halting supply of plastic bags (some had bags that they wanted to use up first rather than dumping) or charging for bags.  There are also some businesses, such as charity shops that only give out recycled old plastic bags. Please see below those shops that have joined our campaign. We need YOU to urge the remaining businesses to join us too to create a 'plastic bag free Poole'.

5 Steps towards going ‘plastic bag free’
  1. Join our scheme; place our posters and stickers up in your shop.
  2. Never volunteer a bag, wait to be asked. You’ll be surprised how many people won’t ask.
  3. Offer alternative shopping bags on sale in your shop.
  4. Advise your customers that they will no longer be able to have free plastic bags.

5. Stop providing free plastic bags!
